THE WORKING

How this calculator works

Commission is the sales amount multiplied by a single rate. Remaining revenue subtracts commission only, not operating costs or salary. Total earnings adds an optional base salary and does not subtract tax or deductions. Tiered rates and quota rules are not modeled.

The formula

Commission = Sales × Rate / 100
Revenue after commission = Sales − Commission
Total earnings = Commission + Base salary.

A quick example

Sales of 10,000 at 5% earn a commission of 500. With a base salary of 2,000, total earnings are 2,500 and revenue after commission is 9,500.

How to use this calculator

  1. Enter the sales amount and flat commission percentage.
  2. Optionally enter base salary for the same period.
  3. Calculate commission, remaining revenue and combined earnings.

A few common questions

Does remaining revenue include salary costs?
No. It subtracts commission only; salary appears in the earnings total.
Can the rate be zero?
Yes. Commission is zero and total earnings equal the optional base salary.
Can I model tiered commission?
Not with this flat-rate tool. Calculate each tier separately if your agreement uses different rates.
